Burford Road Business Centre is situated within an area of modern residential and commercial developments, 500m to the south of central Stratford and Stratford Station.
Built in 2004, the property is of steel frame construction with a combination of a glass and brick façade. Our client’s brief asked us to investigate enhancing the building’s appearance, introducing extra storeys together with an interior conversion to offer a flexible approach to the provision of both self-contained and shared co-working office spaces.
The main entrance features a unique post-tensioned helical concrete staircase that acts as a focal point to the reception - to our knowledge the only staircase of its kind in existence. Beyond the staircase lies a small open zen garden.
A 2-storey glazed roof extension rests upon the existing building providing elevated views of the Olympic Park. The roof incorporates both green and blue roof systems.
The building offers a network of flexible meeting rooms, conference facilities & break-out spaces with shared kitchens.
